What our fiber crews do

Fiber work is precise, repetitive and unforgiving, which suits crews who document as they go. We splice, terminate and test the fiber scopes our customers hand us — from a single damaged strand to a multi-site build.

  • Fusion splicing single-mode and multimode fiber
  • Splice trays, closures and enclosures
  • Fiber patch panels, racks and cabinets
  • Cable pulling, lacing and dressing in conduit, innerduct and racks
  • OTDR traces, insertion loss and power-budget testing
  • Fiber identification, labeling and as-built documentation
  • Repair of cut or degraded strands
  • Campus backbones, risers and building entrances
  • Data center and hyperscaler campus fiber scopes

Testing and handover

A splice is only finished when the numbers say so. We test each link, compare the results with the specification for that route, and hand over the traces and as-built records with the completed work. Where a result falls outside the specification, we find the cause — a splice, a connector, a bend — and correct it before handover.

Fiber alongside power

GridWise Energy is a licensed electrical and HVAC company first, and that is an advantage on fiber jobs. Conduit routing, bonding, rack power and the coordination that decides whether a route gets built on schedule are all electrical questions. Our teams already work on data centers, charging depots, telecom venues and utility sites, so fiber is planned with the rest of the building rather than after it.
