Lease Your Land

Lease length is negotiated for each property because utility work, equipment investment and tenant commitments differ from site to site. We do not publish a standard term. Your proposal should state the initial term, any renewal options and what happens at the end, so you can review it with your adviser.

Rent is a fixed contractual amount set after we review your parcel, its access, available power, construction costs and expected charging demand. We do not quote figures before that review. The written lease will state the amount, payment timing and any adjustments, so there are no surprises later.

Under a GridWise Energy lease, we arrange the development capital, equipment and construction with our own licensed electricians. The lease should spell out every cost responsibility, including utility upgrades, maintenance, insurance and taxes, so you know exactly what you are and are not paying for before you sign.

Removal and restoration obligations are written into the lease before construction begins. The agreement should explain who removes chargers, cabling and electrical equipment, how the surface is restored, and the timeline for doing so. Review these end-of-term terms carefully with your own legal adviser before signing.

Yes. A lease grants GridWise Energy defined rights to use part of your property for charging; it does not transfer ownership. The agreement describes the leased area, access routes and any easements the utility needs, so you understand how the rest of your land can still be used.

Often, yes. Many charging sites use a defined portion of a larger parcel, such as a corner near the road or part of a parking area. We review which area offers the best access and power connection while keeping the rest of your property available for your own use.
